Both are 0W-20 and both say “dexos” on the bottle. They are different specifications for different engines. GM dexos®D is the light-duty diesel specification — the one the 3.0L Duramax inline-six calls for. dexos1 Gen 3 is the gasoline specification. If your truck has a gasoline V8, this is not your oil.
The 3.0L Duramax inline-six takes 7.0 US quarts with the filter. Every standard package on the shelf leaves you short: a 5-quart jug by two quarts, a case of six by one. This lot is fourteen — two complete changes, nothing left over.
Mobil 1™ ESP X2 0W-20 is a full synthetic low-SAPS oil. ExxonMobil lists it as GM dexos®D Licensed — a formal licence held by the oil manufacturer, not a look-alike claim. GM publishes it on the dexos®D licensed-brand list under codes DD40BAED816 and DD40BCCB015.
Fourteen sealed 1-quart bottles, Mobil part number 125386. This is the lowest per-quart price we offer on this oil — buy once, change it twice.
All of these use the 3.0L Duramax inline-six turbo diesel — engine code LM2 or, from 2023, LZ0. Both take the same oil and the same PF66 filter. Capacity is 7.0 quarts / 6.6 litres with the filter, per GM.

ACEA C5 and C6 are the low-SAPS European categories — that is where the aftertreatment compatibility comes from. The VW, Mercedes and Porsche approvals mean this same bottle also covers a number of European petrol and diesel cars; if you are shopping for VW 508 00 or 509 00, this is that oil.

Free shipping within the contiguous 48 states, no minimum order. Orders placed before 1:00 PM Pacific on a business day ship the same day; after that, the next business day. Delivery is typically 3 to 7 business days depending on distance, and you get tracking by email as soon as it ships.
We also ship to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories and Canada, where the exact cost is calculated at checkout before you pay. Aerosols travel by ground only and cannot go by air.

If we tell you the wrong one, send it back opened. We pay shipping both ways and refund in full.

Oil occasionally leaks in transit. Photograph the box before you unpack anything else and email sales@calbestsupplies.com within 5 days of delivery. We replace it or refund it in full, shipping included, and in most cases you do not return anything.
