The LT6 and LT7 take 8.0 quarts with filter, so sixteen is two full changes. This is the count for an owner who tracks the car, a second Z06 in the family, or a shop that has stopped buying this oil six bottles at a time.
GM wrote dexos R for its highest-output engines, and on the 5.5L flat-plane LT6 and LT7 the specified grade is dexos R 5W-50. There is exactly one 5W-50 on GM's licensed dexos R list, and this is it — licence DR40JADH015.
Note the wording on Mobil's own data sheet, because it matters. Supercar 5W-50 appears under the heading “This product has the following approvals” for GM dexosR — a licence, not a self-declaration. The softer “meets or exceeds the requirements of” line on that sheet applies to API SP and SQ, not to dexos R.

Mobil's own line on this product: it is “currently exclusive to the 2023 Corvette Z06 with the 5.5L LT6 engine.” If you are not working on an LT6 or LT7, the oil you want is almost certainly a different one — call us at (626) 378-7212 and we will point you at it.
This is the part Z06 owners tend not to know, and it is worth money to them.
On the Stingray, GM's own Corvette Track Preparation Form tells owners that 15W-50 “may also be used for track use, but after track use must be changed back to 0W-40 dexos2 for street use.” That is two oil changes around a track weekend.
The LT6 and LT7 have no such swap. dexos R 5W-50 is the specified oil for street driving and for track driving. You buy one oil, you run one oil, and you do not drain a fresh fill on the way home from the circuit.
GM also notes these engines may consume more oil in hard use than a standard engine, which is the practical reason to keep a sealed spare quart or two on the shelf rather than one exact fill.

Oil occasionally leaks in transit. Photograph the box before you unpack anything else and email sales@calbestsupplies.com within 5 days of delivery. We replace it or refund it in full, shipping included, and in most cases you do not return anything.
