SAE 75W-80 synthetic for manual and automated manual transmissions in light to heavy-duty commercial vehicles — the Volvo I-Shift, Mack mDRIVE and Detroit DT12 class of gearbox. It is API GL-4. Purus lists it for GM transfer cases that call for 75W-80, except those that require API GL-5. If your unit calls for a GL-5 axle lube, this is not that product.
PURUS® Premium VI-S™ Heavy Duty SAE 75W-80 is a synthetic transmission fluid for manual and automated manual transmissions in light to heavy-duty commercial vehicles. Purus states it provides “outstanding protection for 500,000 mile drain intervals” in severe-duty service, and lists oxidation and thermal stability, wear and extreme-pressure protection, and corrosion protection for metal parts and seals across a wide temperature range.
Because 75W-80 is thinner than 75W-85 and 75W-90, Purus also positions it for better fuel economy in transmissions that are specified for this grade. This is the 5 US gallon pail, Purus part number PHD27277 — about 35 lb of fluid at Purus's published 7.01 lb/gal.
