Rotella T6 is best known as a 5W-40. This is the 15W-40 — the same full-synthetic T6 line in the viscosity most diesel fleets and older trucks already run. If your engine or fleet spec calls for 15W-40, this is the full-synthetic way to stay in it. If it calls for 5W-40 or 10W-30, buy that instead.
In Shell's own words, T6 15W-40 is “suitable for new and older diesel powered vehicles from Class 8 tractor/trailers to heavy duty pickups, delivery, utility and school bus fleets.”
It is a full synthetic, positioned as a drop-in for conventional and synthetic 15W-40 CK-4 and CJ-4 oils, with better cold cranking than a conventional 15W-40. Shell introduced it in 2019 as the 15W-40 companion to the long-running T6 5W-40.
Shell lists these under “Meets or exceeds the following”. We reproduce that wording exactly and do not describe any of them as approvals.

Free shipping within the contiguous 48 states, no minimum order. Orders placed before 1:00 PM Pacific on a business day ship the same day; after that, the next business day. Delivery is typically 3 to 7 business days depending on distance, and you get tracking by email as soon as it ships.
We also ship to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories and Canada, where the exact cost is calculated at checkout before you pay. Aerosols travel by ground only and cannot go by air.
